Show Quality History

Barbara and her dogs have received many championship honors. Here is a 1984 triumph at Mission Trails with Hit It Again Shirley, better known as just "Shirley."
Barbara Herrold bred Brier's Moss Rose and in 1980 "Blossom" won "Best of Variety" at Westminster, the nation's top dog show.

Prize-winning expertise

Barbara and Don Herrold opened Fabulous Lanai Grooming Salon in 1966 to offer skilled and caring services to pet owners. Grooming is more than a business to them, though, because it grew out of their passion for breeding and showing dogs.

The highlight came in 1980 when their miniature poodle Blossom – officially American Canadian Mexican International Champion Brier's Moss Rose – won "Best of Variety" at Westminster, the nation's premier show (top right). At the time, Blossom was the all-time leading brown miniature poodle.

Barbara's dogs have won numerous other championships over the years. The photo (bottom right) shows her with Shirley – officially Hit it Again Shirley – another champion poodle with multiple awards. In recent years Barbara's kennel, Briers' Cavaliers, has been breeding and showing Cavalier King Charles spaniels.

The professional of Barbara and her staff of groomers have attracted thousands of customers over the years. Their personal touch and care keeps them coming back – some now for generations.

Susan Herrold Payne started working with the mother as a dryer in 1972 and is not the operator of the salon. Her sons Ryan and Cooper assist with grooming and call carry on the tradition of tender, loving care for pets and their owners.
